On the history of the Schladminger Klang-Film-Theater
In 1935 Hans Deubler builds the Klang-Film-Theater Schladming.
For decades, this institution was a central focus of the city's social life. On 30 December 2011 the last film was shown in the Schladminger Stadkino.
Like many comparable institutions, the cinema fell victim to competition from new media, the digitalisation of the cinema landscape and the creation of large cinemas.
The KLANG-FILM-THEATER Schladming was awakened from its slumber.
The association of friends of the KLANG-FILM-THEATER Schladming has been bringing three worlds to the point in the former Schladminger Stadtkino for two years now:
- The world of music,
- The world of cinema
- The world of theatre
Numerous local companies acted as sponsors for the KLANG-FILM-THEATER Schladming.
With the support of the Federal Chancellery, the Province of Styria, the Municipality of Schladming and numerous other patrons, it was possible to fulfil all the technical requirements for the operation of an event centre.
The KLANG-FILM-THEATER Schladming is an excellent complement and rounding off of the existing total range of event possibilities for the event and congress city of Schladming, in addition to the congress schladming and the Annenkapelle.
With the revival of the KLANG-FILM-THEATER in the heart of Schladming, a meeting and event venue for youth, schools, clubs, companies, but also external organisers was created.
