Once a high medieval castle.
From the Wolkenstein castle ruins, once the seat and dominion of the sovereign's office and regional court in the Enns valley, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Enns valley. The Wolkensteiner family is mentioned in a document from around 1099. At the beginning of the 12th century the construction of the castle was started. The remnants of the walls that still exist today clearly show the fortifications of that time.
