Ski touring experiences in the midst of untouched nature. The path leads you directly under the Dachstein summit to the imposing Seethalerhütte.
A short and beautiful 1,5h ski tour (excl. gondola ride). From the Dachstein mountain station on the Hunerkogel via the Gjaidsteinscharte past the Dirndl to the serviced Seethalerhütte. The route leads over the Schladming and Hallstatt glaciers and follows the prepared and marked trail.
This easy panoramic tour offers impressive views of the Salzkammergut, the Hoher Dachstein and the depths of the Dachstein south face and the Schladminger Tauern.
The tour is only possible during the operating hours of the Dachstein Glacier Lift.
Conditions on the glacier
The Dirndl Tour is located above the tree line. Most of the Dachstein glacier faces north-east or north and is susceptible to rapid changes in the weather. Another major issue is rapidly falling or long-lasting fog, which can cause temperatures to plummet. Please inform yourself well before the tour about the weather development and snow conditions and carry sufficient protective equipment.

Descent from the Dachstein mountain station to below the Dirndl via the groomed and marked trail. Ski up and follow the trail in a long left-hand bend past the shoulder ascent - which leads to the Dachstein summit - to the Seethalerhütte. The hut, which was significantly redesigned in 2018, is located between the Dirndl and the Hoher Dachstein directly on the south face of the Dachstein. Return as outward route.
Please note that you are in high alpine terrain. Inform yourself well about the weather and snow situation and take the necessary protective equipment with you. Please do not deviate from the route due to the numerous crevasses.
The alpine emergency number in Austria is 140 (Europe 112).
If you have no network reception, please restart your phone. However, before you enter your PIN code for the SIM card, dial the emergency number. You can also make the emergency call in other networks.
Even though there are parking spaces at the Dachstein Gondola Bottom Station, it is recommended that you take the public bus from Schladming or Ramsau to use the gondola.
