From the car park, 200 m before Koller farm, along the road across the farm, until you come to the country lane. You will follow this until you come to the Schönwetterhütte at 1,442 m, continuing uphill across the western flank of the mountain to the Schleinhütte! Here, a high-alpine cirque opens before you. Follow this to the foot of the Gumpeneck, and continue climbing in a westerly direction up to a striking saddle! The crest will lead you up to the summit of the Gumpeneck, affording views of Ennstal valley!

Route: From the B 320 follow the signs for Stein/Enns, Naturtpark Sölktäler. In the centre of Stein an der Enns, turn off in the direction of St. Nikolai. After approx. 4.5 km, turn left shortly before Großsölk to the Koller farmstead.
Ascent: Via the forest path to the Gumpenalm. Near the Schönwetterhütte (1,442 m) over the western slope to the Schleinhütte (highest alpine hut). From here keep right to Salzleck and continue to Blockfeldspitz and southeast over the big ridge to Gumpeneck.
At the descent there are 2 variants:
Variant 1: Same as the ascent
Variant 2: Over the Gumpenkar to the top hut and left of the ditch to the forest road. From here on to the "Schönwetterhütte" and back to the starting point.
Please note the game reserve in the western part of the Gumpenalm (roe deer feeding) and do not drive northwest of the salt lick - thank you very much.
