Standard ascent to the Große Tragl along the ski ascent tracks: The ski tour starts at the Tauplitzalm parking lot at the end of the
toll Tauplitzalm Alpine road. First past the Hollhaus and across the alpine plateau in an easterly direction. Shortly before the Steirersee, there is the first short descent towards the Steirerseehütten.
Left past the huts, along the foothills of the Sturzhahn uphill always following the winter markings. Under the rock walls up to the Traglhals. At the Traglhals keep sharp left and continue to the summit of the Großer Tragl. You will be rewarded for the ascent with a wonderful panoramic view.
Descent: from the summit keep left to the saddle and into the Haberboden. Partly steep, partly flat descent through Langkar to Ödernalm. Renewed (steep) ascent northeast-sided in the direction of Großsee to Tauplitzalm.
Avalanche-safe conditions necessary due to the steep slope crossing on the descent!
