Mur cycle path between Frohnleiten and Graz
Is one shore of the river Mur more beautiful than the other? Find out for yourself! Just like during the last stage between Slovenia and Croatia, you can also cycle along both shores of the river between Frohnleiten and Graz on the detour via Gratkorn. Just a short ride away from the cycle path, many local attractions are waiting for you.
The cycle path’s architecture along both sides of the Mur is perfect for making a roundtrip of your tour. The Lurgrotte with its impressive stalactite cave and the open-air museum of Stübing are only two of the attractions located along this section of the Mur cycle path. Both of them are popular with tourists as well as locals.
Bett+Bike accommodation
You can find more than 80 “Bett+Bike” (bed + bike) partners along the Mur cycle path. All of them carry the quality seal of the German Cyclist’s Association ADFC and are perfect for cyclists to spend a night or more there. The hotels and guesthouses feature secure bike racks and drying rooms for your clothes. What’s more, they offer a cyclists’ breakfast to charge your batteries for the day ahead. The staff can also help you out with tools or workshop contacts in case your bike is in need of minor repairs.

The Mur cycle path takes you through eight small historic towns. Plus, there’s Graz, Austria’s second-biggest city, UNESCO world heritage and City of Design! Each of these places invites you to expand your cultural and culinary horizons.
